I am Georgia Leigh and I set up my beauty business two weeks before the first lockdown... because - why not?
Of course it wasn't my plan to set up self employed and then go into a national lockdown but hey that's how life goes I suppose.
Who Is Georgia Leigh?
At the time of writing this I'm a 24 year old, football loving business owner, mother to a child and two dogs and a skincare fanatic ... but how did I get here?
I was born in High Wycombe and grew up in Hazlemere. Growing up I was a very active child and absolutely horse mad. I started riding at 2 years old and got my first pony at 4 years old, I was living every child's dream. At senior school I was into my sport and took part in many after school teams and activities from ballet and netball, to football, rugby and scouts.
So how did you end up doing Beauty?
I got my first job at 14 working weekends at a stables near me helping with top competition horses, it was here that I sparked my interest in Horse Racing. I left home at 16 and started working full time in horse racing. I lived in Newbury, Newmarket, North Yorkshire and even Dubai before moving back home to have my daughter.
I worked in a little local pub during my pregnancy and after a short stint back in racing after the birth of my daughter it was time for a career change after my 11th broken bone injury.
This is where I found myself working in a Spa close to home, although I was only on the reception desk it was here that I relit my love and interest in beauty treatments. I'm sure you can gather that working behind a desk wasn't really going to be my cup of tea. I loved seeing clients coming out of treatments feeling relaxed, refreshed and confident in their skin. I decided to do training at The Beauty Academy in London. I completed my training and decided setting up my own business would be the best route to fit around my daughter.
Hence, Georgia Leigh's Beauty Box was born, this as mentioned before this happened two weeks before the first coronavirus lockdown in 2020. Originally I began as Nails by Georgia Leigh, however that didn't stick for long as I missed the feeling of seeing clients relaxed and refreshed so wanted to expand my treatment menu. A rebrand, new logo and treatment list later Georgia Leigh's Beauty Box was born.
It's been a whirlwind two years with many many months spent stuck in my house painting nail designs on nail sticks and pampering my own skin (there are definitely worse ways to spend lockdown!) I have spent two years being mobile and meeting wonderful people and I am now so excited to join the amazing girls at The House Of Klamer, Beaconsfield and be able to offer the full salon experience to clients.
I hope you enjoyed getting to know me better, why not leave a comment about how you found out about Georgia Leigh's Beauty Box?
